Pavel Stantchev joined TV2 Media Group in Hungary as CEO in 2019. He also became CEO of Planet TV, the second-largest private broadcaster in Slovenia, when TV2 acquired it in 2020. Pavel heads up the team that has turned TV2 into a market-leading commercial television channel in Hungary, overseeing the launch of a number of successful shows, including Dancing with the Stars, Wheel of Fortune and Farm VIP. And Planet TV has increased its audience share by 20% under his leadership.
Pavel joined TV2 from French broadcaster TF1, where he served in various management positions, including CEO of TF1 Distribution. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Pavel graduated with a degree in journalism from ESJ Paris in 1992.
He started out working as a journalist in France, and then became a business development manager at Switzerland’s largest media company, Ringier AG, in 1992. Over the course of his 30-year career in media and television, Pavel has worked as a CEO for BTV Media Group and Nova TV in Bulgaria, Antenna Group in Southeast Europe, PRVA Serbia, RTL Croatia, HBO and Kanal D in Romania.
